As I matured, limiting beliefs began to take hold, seeding doubts such as "It's not possible" or "You'll never make a living out of it", or "Your not good enough". Eventually, they became an invisible force in my life, until finally I believed them to be true.
What I've come to realize over the years is that limiting beliefs are only as powerful as you allow them to be. They stop us from achieving growth and our dreams, not our actually physical abilities. And because of our social conditioning, we simply accept these beliefs as our reality.
Here are some limiting beliefs we tend fall for:
- I'm too old to do it.
- It takes money to make money.
- I don't have any previous experience, so I won't get hired.
- He comes from a rich family, so that's why he succeeded.
- He/She cheated on me, so I can't trust again.
- It failed in the past, so why try now?
Don't fall for them. Don't make yourself out as the victim (because you'll never grow). Take ownership of yourself and accept responsibility for your current situation. Decide what you truly want, and then go for it. Surround yourself with those things that will attract quality opportunities in you life.

Here are a few simple steps you can use to turn your limiting beliefs into positive ones:
Validate them: Are those beliefs really true? Try to search for evidence, or ask around if someone thinks different than you.

Flip them to the positive side: For example, don’t say that 30% of people don’t pass an exam, but say something like 70% of people pass the exam. Can you see the difference?
See if there’s room for improvement: If you're still dealing with a negative belief, identify if you have the control to change it.
Don’t give it your attention: Do this if nothing else seems to works. You do have to simply ignore your belief. With this I don’t mean you should negate it, but rather that you shouldn’t let it have power over your emotion. This is very important. If you can’t do anything about something, let it go.
